Mayor Appeals to Brgy. Rizal Residents

JANUARY 6, 2021

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo personally talked to the residents of Brgy. Rizal especially those under house-cared or bedridden individuals, yesterday, Jan. 4, 2021. Gustilo appealed to said individuals and their families to cooperate in the local government’s effort in dealing with the Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) and undergo the COVID-19 swab testing since they are the most vulnerable sector susceptible to the said viral disease and if tested positive will be cared of by the government.

The mayor cited that it is important to identify individuals who are COVID-19 positive so immediate health intervention will be made and further transmission will be avoided. He added that members of the households of said individuals will also be provided assistance and food packs while on quarantine.

Joe Recalex Alingasa Jr., Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer and COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Manager who was also present during the meeting also explained to said individuals the risks of ignoring government’s call or non-cooperation under Republic Act No. 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act which include imprisonment and fines.

Gustilo was hopeful that since the right information was already conveyed to the local residents, they will now cooperate and submit themselves to the needed swab testing for their own welfare.

The EOC decided to have all bedridden individuals in every barangay undergo swab testing because of the rise of mortality from the said sector and who tested positive of COVID-19 during the post-mortem swab when they were allegedly not exposed to the COVID-19 elements.

Present during the meeting were Brgy. Rizal Punong Barangay David Logarta, barangay officials and health workers.
