San Carlos City Receives the 2019 SGLG Marker

The 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Marker was presented by the City Planning & Development Coordinator’s Office (CPDCO) staff headed by Engr. Magnolia B. Antonio, CPD Coordinator to San Carlos City officials, yesterday.

Present were San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo together with Congressman Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr., Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, Sanggguniang Panlungsod Members Mark Cui and Clint Mansueto and City Administrator Atty. Estefanio Libutan Jr.
Engr. Antonio said that this is the 5th marker received which means that the City won 5 consecutive years of the prestigious award.

She added that there’s no evaluation for 2020 due to the pandemic but this year, 2021 they were advised that there will be an evaluation on SGLG with an additional two pillars: Youth Development and Education, Heritage Conservation in addition to Tourism Culture and Arts.

The City also received 3.5 Million Pesos incentive as Performance Challenge Fund to finance projects.

The SGLG is the most distinguished award given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government to the few deserving LGUs who have excelled across the seven pillars of governance namely, Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environment Management, Tourism Culture and the Arts.
