PLT. Roby Aurita of San Carlos City PNP said the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) requires that transport group should undergo drug test since it is also the mandate of President Rodrigo Duterte that all drivers of public vehicles should be drug free.

Aurita said it is very important that those in the transport group are clear from drugs for the safety of passengers. She added that if there will be tested positive, they will submit the names to the San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC) for appropriate action.

Meanwhile, Joseph Erly Ybañez, SACATODA President said that they welcome said drug test so they will know who among them are users so they could also do something about it.

Ybañez added that as drivers they should focus more on livelihood since they have families to feed especially during this time of pandemic. He also cited that if there are members who will be tested positive, they will take them out from their group.

Said activity was facilitated by the SCCADAC together with the City Health Office and the Philippine National Police.
