Rural Barangays Receive Poultry Animals from Provincial Veterinary Office

Three barangays of San Carlos City received free range chickens and Pekin Ducks during the veterinary relief mission of Negros Occidental’s Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) in coordination with the local government of San Carlos City, today, March 12.

Barangay Bagonbon received 200 free range chickens while Barangays Punao and Palampas received 14 and 16 Pekin Ducks, respectively.

Representatives from Provincial Veterinary Office, City Agriculturist Office and barangay officials posed for posterity during the turn-over of free range chickens and pekin ducks to be distributed to farmer-beneficiaries at Brgys Punao, Palampas and Bagonbon, this city

Dr. Placida Lemana of Negros Occidental’s PVO said that the provision of said poultry animals is under the program of Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson aimed at increasing the livestock production of farmers to improve their livelihood.

The PVO also offered free consultation and deworming; distributed vitamins for animals, bottles of fresh milk and bundles of Napier grass with the help of the Veterinary Division of the City Agriculture’s Office (CAO) headed by Dr. Jeff Reonal.

Santos Mahilum, one of Barangay Bagonbon beneficiaries and Kapatiran Chairman thanked the province and the local government for the said provision since it has been their hope to receive such assistance.

Punong Barangays Editha Juanillo of Bagonbon and Sofronio Senador of Punao; barangay kagawads and other representatives from PVO and CAO were also present during the turnover activities.
