
Displaced Workers Sign Contract of Works

At least 54 local displaced workers signed for contract of works provided by the program of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and the Department Of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at Brgy. 3 today, March 19.

Pocholo Yuvienco, SK Federation President of Negros Occidental said the project is under Gov. Eugenio “Bong” Lacson whose funds were distributed to all board members of the different districts of Negros Occidental as assistance to displaced workers affected by the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and coursed through the DOLE-Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers (TUPAD).
Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Provincial Coordinator Sharon Juance and local PESO In-Charge Erel Lim and staff facilitated the signing of contract and orientation of beneficiaries afterwards.
Lim said that the DOLE-TUPAD program is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers wherein said beneficiaries will work up to 10 days only at the wage of P395 per day.
After said event the SK Federation thru Yuvienco turned over to Lim its donation to PESO the 40- inch TCL android TV and DB-Audio Bluetrek speaker to be used during the livelihood training and orientation activities at the DOST Livelihood Training Center.
