San Carlos City thru the San Carlos City Children and Women’s Affairs, Inc. (SCCAWAI) celebrates National Women’s Month this morning March 29 at the Consuelo Zobel Alger Community Center.

Ma. Consuelo Janice Carmona, SCCAWAI President said this year’s celebration focused on recognizing women frontliners with the theme, ” Juana, Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!” for their contribution amid the COVID-19 pandemic and for managing to stay strong, composed and dependable at all times.

She also thanked the invulnerable presence of the participants and guests and the constant support of all SCCAWAI members that made their activities worthwhile and successful.

City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona who graced the occasion spoke of their appreciation to the endeavor of women who helped alleviate the ordeal during this hard time.

Gustilo was thankful for the conscientious efforts of the women who were assigned in the isolation facilities, borders, barangays, hospitals and city hall especially during this pandemic. He said that indeed women are very reliable in their service.

Vice Mayor Carmona on the other hand cited how truly empowered women are whose competence equal men and very resilient amid trials. He also wished for them to become more successful in their efforts especially during this pandemic.

Part of the program was the giving of Certificate of Appreciation to frontliners by SCCAWAI member Grima Rabacal representative of Barangay VI Women’s Council and Vice Mayor Carmona for their diligent service to the public amid the pandemic.

Representatives from the Barangay Council for Women, City Hospital, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Health Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management were present in the said activity.
