SCT Members and KAPATIRAN Rep Show Status of PAMANA Projects

Members of the San Carlos City Site Coordinating Team (SCT) and Kapatiran Para sa Progresong Panlipunan Inc. (KAPATIRAN) representative presented the developments of the various projects under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA).

The presentations were held during the joint SCT, Joint Enforcement and Monitoring Committee (JEMC) and KAPATIRAN Zoom meeting facilitated by the City Planning and Development Coordinators Office (CPDCO) this morning, May 6.

Said meeting focused on the area profile of the Peace Development Community in So. Nangka, Barangay Bagonbon; status of the 2017 PAMANA funds/projects and other supports; implementation of the Livelihood Settlement Grant; Site Development Plan and housing project; distribution of Community Defense Unit allowances; and failed ginger production, among others.

Undersecretary for Defense Operations Cesar B. Yano of the Department of National Defense and JEMC Co-chair noted the responsibilities of concerned agencies to seek advice from experts if not fixed within the LGU level in order to improve and achieve success in the implementation of projects.

Veronica Tabara, KAPATIRAN Chair and JEMC Co-chair reminded the KAPATIRAN members that the government is always there to help but it is up to them if they want to mature and learn from the new path to peace and development.

She added that problems and failures are normal but they have to strive hard to earn and improve their livelihood.

City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo also thanked the national government for extending aids for rebel returnees in San Carlos.

Also present during the Zoom meeting were Milo Ibrado, OPAPP Consultant and JEMC member; Director Susana Guadalupe Marcaida of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process; Pastor Noel Villalba; Schedar Rose Novilla, Special Project Focal from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD SLP) Field Office VI Jayson Encinares, Peace Project Officer III of OPAPP; representatives of the 542nd Engineer Construction Battalion and 79th Infantry Battalion; and other members of the SCT and KAPATIRAN.
