The 35-year-old San Carloseño Cornelio Diano Jr. was hailed as the over-all champion of the Future Proof: A collector’s face-off held last July 3-4, 2021 at the Atrium of the Ayala Malls-Capitol Central in Bacolod City.

Different collections of custom and builds of superheroes, fictional characters and customized crafts, such as DC and Marvel’s Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Wonderwoman, as well NBA cards, airsoft gears and remote-controlled toys of various hobbyists and artists in the province were showcased at said event.
Diano’s winning piece was the diorama: a three-dimensional custom build of Marvel and DC superheroes where he bagged fourteen awards and the best of show, making him the overall champion.

Most of his entries were custom builds made of recyclable materials which stood out among other pieces in the said competition.
Some of his creations are also exported to other countries after being posted and discovered online. His clients, mostly artists abroad paved the way for him to earn during this time of pandemic.
Diano said, in a competition there will always be a time to shine, so one just have to continue his passion. He added he is hopeful that his recognition will put the city in the spotlight and become an avenue for other artists to enhance their potentials and show-off their creativity and gain support.
