CSWD Officer Cynthia Mirande said 64 families with totally damaged houses received P10,000.00 each; 1 family with partially damaged house was given P7,000.00 while 14 sharers and 16 renters received P5,000.00 each.

Mirande added that recipients are not required to buy specific materials nor essentials using the money received.

The 62-year-old teacher and fire victim Marilou Fuertes said she will use the money to buy house materials but keep it for now, as they are still waiting to be relocated to the designated area for fire victims.

She also advised residents with houses made of light materials to take precautionary measures in using equipment that might cause fire.
