MARCH 11, 2022
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 6 inspected the status of the P20 million road concreting project from proper Nataban to Binone Elementary School in Brgy. Nataban, San Carlos City, March 8.
Region 6 Director Juan Jovian Ingeniero led the inspection team with the DILG Negros Occidental Provincial Director Roselyn Quintana, Local Government Operations Officer VII and North Cluster Head Maria Fatima Daiz, Engr. Mary Jo Anne Cabrera and Yvoughn Nadine Navarro of DILG Neg. Occ. and Anthony Ian Andaleza of DILG Region 6 Office.

Ingeniero said the 1.4 kilometer-road project is funded under the Local Government Support Fund- Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) which is a major program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), a whole-of-nation approach of the government to meet the needs even of the smallest barangays.
He also said the farm-to-market road indicates that the government cares for the community in the far-flung areas.
Ingeniero added the project is 60 percent complete and is targeted to be finished in September 2022.
Brgys. Nataban, Quezon, Codcod, Guadalupe and Buluangan were the five insurgency-affected areas already cleared by the Philippine Army which received a total of P100 Million worth of farm-to-market road projects for P20M per barangay.
The group together with Engr. Magnolia Antonio, City Planning and Development Coordinator paid courtesy visit to Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona and City Administrator Atty. Estefanio Libutan Jr.
They also visited the city’s state-of-the art DRRM Operations Building that uses new technologies in responding to emergencies and disaster-related events.
