City Opens Buwan ng Wika Trade Fair

The local government of San Carlos City thru the Negosyo Center opened the Tatak Pinoy Buwan ng Wika Trade Fair last Aug. 1, at City Mall.

City Administrator Atty. Estefanio Libutan Jr., Ma. Novah Sollesta, Local Economic Investment Promotion Officer Designate, SP Member Carlos Manuel Valmayor, Committee Chair on Business, Trade & Industry, SP Member Victoriana Cabili, Municipality Mayor Marilyn Era of Calatrava, and John Mchale Benio, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Negros Occidental Trade and Industry Development Analyst led the opening of the said fair.

Sollesta said the objective of the event is to promote Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and help local business owners boosts their products or goods. She also cited that the local government unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Calatrava was also invited to emphasize the relationship between neighboring areas, that the progress of one LGU is the progress of the whole island.

Moreover, SP Valmayor said the fair is a venue for farmers to showcase their crafts and benefit from the exposure.

Atty. Libutan on the other hand welcomed the exhibitors and entrepreneurs and said that the fair will promote the different local products that are export potential; thanked Mayor Renato Gustilo and other city officials for always supporting the MSMEs as the backbone of economy and a very important sector in our society.

Mayor Era thanked the LGU-San Carlos for inviting them to display their Pandan products which will inspire Pandan farmers to continue and improve what they have started.
Newbie exhibitor Myth Carbajosa, Bush Bush Restaurant owner said that they have been in the business for 3 years already and the fair is a big help in promoting and introducing their products in the market to gain more costumers.

The said month-long trade fair will feature exhibitors which include Insikwate, Joaquines Pastries and Cakes, Buttered Girlfriend, Amazing Sweets, Jandel’s Food Products, Jackangel’s Peanut Butter, D & B Peanuts, Angels Peanuts, Fritzie Peanuts, Ease Peanuts, Tita Tata’s Homemade Empanada and Chicken Macaroni, Artisan’s Cartel Arts and Crafts Manufacturing, Bush Bush, MACKATA, Ester and Atin Arts and Crafts Manufacturing and San Isidro Weavers Association.

Also present during the said exhibit were Melani Bayabos, Negosyo Center-San Carlos Junior Business Counselor; Marisol Marcelino, Negosyo Center- Calatrava Junior Business Counselor; SB Member Kylie Anieva Palma of Calatrava; SP Member Armando Laguda Jr. and City Tourism Office representatives Jennifer Saballa-Paran and Autumn Bacurnay.
The Fair is open to the public until August 31, 2022 in partnership with City Mall San Carlos, DTI and Go Lokal.
