San Carlos City Launched PinasLakas

The City Government of San Carlos thru it’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in partnership with the Provincial Health Office, Department of Health, City Health Office and local offices officially launched “PinasLakas” COVID-19 vaccination campaign last Sept. 10 at Gaisano Capital San Carlos.

The activity which aimed at intensifying the COVID-19 vaccination in the city was attended by City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, SP Member Dr. Jose Carlos Villarante, SP Chair on Health, Sanitation & Social Services, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernel Tumimbang, local DepEd representative Dr. Evangeline Froilan, City Health Officer Dr. Arniel Laurence Portuguez and City DRRM Officer Joe Recalex Alingasa Jr.

Dr. Villarante, invited the people to be vaccinated, complete their primary doses and booster shots in order to achieve the high vaccination rate of the city.

Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo on the other hand reiterated that people should be vaccinated at the same time complete their booster shots. He also said that having a high vaccination rate will change the level status of the city from Level 2 to Level 1 so it will be ready to embrace the new normal.

Dr. Ernell Tumimbang also said that booster shots will give more immunity against new strain of the COVID-19 and will reduce the risk of contracting severe COVID-19 disease.

According to the Department of Health “PinasLakas” campaign targets to vaccinate 90 percent of senior citizens and administer booster shots to at least 50 percent of the adult population by October 8.

The said vaccination activity in the city will run from Sept. 10-16,2022 at Gaisano Capital San Carlos while regular vaccination is still on-going at the CBR Facility (Old Hospital) from Monday-Friday except Wednesday.

The Pintaflores Dance Company performed during the event which gave the spectators a light moment before the start of the actual vaccination program witnessed by City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, Provl Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, City Health Officer Dr. Arniel Laurence Portuguez.

The said event was facilitated by the EOC while the City Health Office led the actual vaccination.
