
2nd Pintaflores Badminton Invitational Tournament Winners Awarded

The city government of San Carlos thru the City Sports Office awarded the winners of the 2nd Pintaflores Badminton Invitational Tournament last night, October 23 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Park Marina in Brgy 3.
Winners received P500 and Medal for the Champion and P300 and medal for the 1st runner up for the Boys and Girls Singles while in the Doubles winners got P1000 cash and medal for the champion and P600 cash for 1st runner up. The Open Men’s and Women’s Double and Mixed Doubles on the other hand, received P3,000 cash and medals for the champion and P2000 cash and medal for the 1st runner up.








City Sports Office, Officer in Charge Jesus Facundo P. Combate Jr. and Executive Assistants Renbert N. Gustilo and Airene Rose N. Gustilo led the distribution of awards to the winners.
City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo congratulated all the participants and said that this is just the beginning of the continuing tournaments in San Carlos City since there will be more of if that the city will host soon.
He also told parents to encourage their children to play badminton and bring them to the Sports Park to play for free where trainers are also available for free.
Gustilo added that this 2nd Pintaflores Badminton Invitational Tournament had the biggest participants in the history of the City of San Carlos since winners reached 46 while participating individuals totaled 288 for the various categories including Girl’s Single and Double, Boy’s Single and Double for Under 10, Under 13, Under 16, and Under 19 and Open Men’s and Women’s Double and Mixed Doubles.
Aside from the local players, others came from different schools and places in Negros Island and Western Visayas including the cities of Himamaylan, Cadiz, Canlaon, Sipalay, Victorias, Sagay, Bacolod and Iloilo, while the schools include St. Scholastica’s Academy, Trinity Christian School, University of St. La Salle, Taytung High School, St. Joseph School La Salle, Riverside College, Negros Occidental High School and John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation.
