The first batch of more than 460 students under the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) and Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strands are undergoing the immersion, with 136 students assigned to the different offices of the LGU, including the City Mayor’s Office, Casual’s Office, SCC Multi-Purpose Hall Park Marina, Public Employment Service Office, Public Market and Slaughterhouse Department, City Agriculture’s Office, City Environment and Management Office, City Library, City Health Office, City Planning and Development Coordinator’s Office, Business Permit and Licensing Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Sangguniang Panlungsod Office, Tourism office, City Legal Office, City Sports Office, Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office, Office for Human Resource Management and City Waterworks Department.

Arnaldo Regidor, JLNHS Master Teacher l said work immersion is one of the course requirements for graduating senior high school students.
He said with work immersion, students will be able to gain relevant and practical industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts and workers; appreciate the importance and applications of the principles and theories taught in school; enhance their technical knowledge and skills; enrich their skills in communication and human relations and develop good working habits, attitudes, appreciations and respect for work.
He added that this also prepares them to meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education after graduation.
Rey Baguio, a Grade 12-HUMSS Student said that he chose the Tourism Office for his work immersion to learn how to handle tourists, know the city’s tourist spots and acquire additional knowledge about tourism since he wants to pursue a tourism course in college.
Julio Ledesma National High School, having five strands for their Senior High School, including Arts and Design Track; Technical Vocational Livelihood; Humanities and Social Sciences; Accountancy, Business, and Management; and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strands, has at least 962 graduating senior high school students.
