CHO Presents Awards to Mayor Gustilo

The City Health Office (CHO) presented four awards from the Philippine Commission on Population (PopCom) Region 6 to San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo this morning, March 21.
Said awards were earlier received in Iloilo City on March 17, 2023, which include Top 2 in New Family Planning Acceptors Generated (Component City Category) and Top 3 Demand Generation (Component City Category); 660% of new family planning acceptors in Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) and 414% of couples/individuals reached in RPFP.
Gretel A. Fegidero, Health Education and Promotion Officer II of CHO said the awards were the results of the midwives, barangay health workers (BHWs), and barangay service point officers’ (BSPO) efforts to strengthen the advocacy on family planning to help provide families better future and sense of responsibilities.
Fegidero added among the requirements that qualified them for the awards include the midwives’ reports, pregnancy management advocacy, urging women to enroll after pregnancy and family management.
She also said the awards from PopCom served as their little victories that acknowledged their efforts.
City Health Officer Dr. Arniel Lawrence Portuguez and Rowena Sabangan, Nurse Supervisor, were also present during the presentation.
