SCCCAWAI Holds GAD Orientation

The San Carlos City Children and Women’s Affairs Inc. (SCCCAWAI) held a Gender and Development (GAD) orientation yesterday, March 29 in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month.
At least 30 employees of the City Hospital participated in the orientation held in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH)- Public Health Unit and San Carlos City Hospital (SCCH) Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
SCCCAWAI President Ma. Janice Consuelo Carmona and the resource person said the activity complies with the memorandum circular of Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo to celebrate National Women’s Month for the whole month of March; the requirement of DOH for public health unit; and the requirement of Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for cooperatives.
Carmona discussed the history of Women’s Day/Month; legal mandates; theme; and gender stereotyping.
She also emphasizes the importance of gender equality among men and women.
Each participant also received a certificate of participation and 2 kilos of rice courtesy of SCCCAWAI.
On the other hand, employees of the SCCH wore purple to show support for the celebration of National Women’s Month.
Said celebration will culminate tomorrow, March 31.
