
San Carlos City Athletes Secure 13 Gold Medals in Palarong Panlalawigan

San Carlos City athletes, both in elementary and secondary levels, bagged at least 52 medals in the Palarong Panlalawigan 2023, held March 30-April 2, at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
San Carlos got 13 gold, 17 silver, and 22 bronze medals among the more than 40 events they participated.










Said winners paid courtesy to City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo and City Vice Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona today, April 11 at the City Mayor’s Office.
Said athletes who presented their awards were players in Football, Table Tennis, Futsal, Pencak Silat, Billiards, and Special Education who participated in Special Events- Para games.
Mayor Gustilo encouraged the athletes to do their best and practice more to excel in their own field and be proud to represent the city in any event.
Dennis G. Develos, Ph.D. OIC – Schools Division Superintendent thanked Mayor Gustilo for the support; he hoped to generate gold medals in the next competition, especially in football, badminton, and other sports.
Moreover, Maria Theresa G. Marcellana and Diana A. Zuniega, Elementary Football Team Coach and Assistant Coach of Greenville Elementary School, said they have been preparing for the Regional Meet.
Gold medalists will compete in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet starting April 26, 2023 in the Province of Aklan.
Cluster 1 was composed of San Carlos City, Municipalities of Calatrava, Toboso, and Don Salvador Benedicto, while Escalante City secured a total of 21 gold, 19 silver, and 21 bronze medals while the Negros Occidental Private School Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) bagged 196 medals 95 gold, 60 silver, 41 bronze.
