CDRRMO Trains Students on Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support

APRIL 18, 2023

At least 20 senior high students of Julio Ledesma National High School, having their immersion training at the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), undergo a 5-day training on Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support from April 17-21, 2023.

Said students are introduced to first aid, guidelines in giving emergency care to patients, casualty handling, shock, soft tissue injuries, bones, joints and muscle injuries, poisoning, common emergencies and basic life support (cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), rescue breathing and foreign body airway obstruction) on the first four days of the training.
Chester Christian E. Dela Victoria, DRRM Officer 1 and Training Management Team head, said they want the students to experience simulation exercises so they would know how to save a life during an emergency, especially members of their family.
Alexander P. Traña, a Senior High School student, said he is very grateful to be part of the training because it is a great advantage to know basic first aid and help others during an emergency.
