PDLs in San Carlos District Jail Trained in Meat Processing

At least 15 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in San Carlos City District Jail underwent a meat processing skill today, May 10.

The Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) Negros Occidental representatives Rose Marie S. Veloso, Project Development Officer II; Beache Pearl B. Mendieta, Administrative Aide II; and John Troy Villanueva, Administrative Aide III thru the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office (CLDO) taught the PDLs how to process meat into Corned Beef, Tocino, Chorizo, and Embutido.
Vicky D. Tribunalo, CLDO-Livelihood and Entrepreneurs Development Section Designated Supervisor hoped the PDLs would put to use what they learned during the training and become their source of livelihood later on.
Jail Officer III Wilbeth Gantalao of BJMP-San Carlos said they are thankful that the government gives importance to PDLs by continuously providing them with useful skills. He said the training aimed at teaching the PDLs some ways to become productive and earn for their family when released from jail soon.
Also present during the training were Liberty Alarcon, TLDC Head; Edmond Christ Acosido, Provincial Cooperative Coordinator; Necholi Montefalcon; Kevin Lorenz Gupalor; Mark Anthony Jungko, TLDC staff ; and BJMP Jail Chief Inspector Felix Q. Sariana.
