Summer Camp Football Festival Held

The Manila-based RAYA Football Club with San Carlos City Negros Football Club held a one-day Summer Camp Football Festival at the Centermall Grounds yesterday, May 13.
 
A total of 14 teams from Metro Manila, San Carlos City, and the Municipality of Calatrava competed for U7 Born 2016 Mix, U10 Born 2013 Mix, and U12 Born 2010 mix categories.
The Lycans Football Club was declared champion in the U7 category; Santa Ana De San Carlos was the U10 champion; and Tañon Football Club was the U12 champion. Each club received a certificate, football, and trophy as prizes.
 
Justine Cruz, Vice President of RAYA Football Club, said their fellow RAYA FC coaches who are residents of San Carlos City, invited them to play, and talked about the city producing great football players pushing them to realize the event.
 
Cruz also said the city is a great place to develop aspiring athletes not only in football but in other sports.
 
He thanked the participating coaches and parents for their support and warm welcome during their stay in the city, which made their experience memorable.
 
First District Congressman Gerardo Valmayor Jr., Board Member Pocholo Yuvienco, Provincial S.K. President and San Carlos City Football Club President, and Cruz led the ceremonial kick-off while Jesus Facundo Combate Jr., City Sports Office Head, opened the football festival.
