PSA Conducts PBRAP
MAY 19, 2023
The Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA), in coordination with the local government unit (LGU)-San Carlos thru the Local Civil Registry (LCR), conducted a PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) yesterday, May 18, at Brgy. Buluangan Covered Court.
The PBRAP aimed at assisting individuals with PSA negative certifications or who are not yet registered, especially the Indigenous People (IPs), to get a birth certificate.
City Civil Registrar Rudy Estrellanes said they target to register 3,000 individuals in the city for the duration of the memorandum as recommended by the PSA.
Estrellanes added Buluangan was among the barangays first visited because of its high number of unregistered individuals.
He also thanked Brgy. Buluangan personnel for cooperating, PSA, and the local government for supporting the program.
Alfie Aposaga, PBRAP Agent, said the program is beneficial since the birth certificate is a very significant legal document required from individual for any transaction and to avail of any assistance from the government.
He added individuals who want to avail of the free registration are required to bring any ID available including Philhealth ID, National ID, or Barangay Certification.
Marcellana L. Batojan, a 66-year-old resident of Barangay Buluangan, said bringing the program to their barangay is a convenient way for them in terms of travel expenses.
She also thanked the LGU-San Carlos and PSA for initiating the program.
