PSA to Hold 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries

The Philippine Statistics Authority-Negros Occidental will hold a 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) on September 4 to October 25, 2023.
The Census City Coordinating Board (CCCB), composed of the representatives of the Local Civil Registry, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Agriculture’s Office, City Assessor’s Office, Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office, City Planning and Development Coordinator’s Office and Department of Agrarian Reform this afternoon, May 24 following said announcement.
Rodrigo Gawal Jr., Statistical Specialist II of PSA, said the census aimed at determining the structural characteristics of Agriculture & Fisheries and providing sampling frame for the conduct of periodic agricultural and fishery surveys and other related statistical undertakings, basic data for use in national and sub-national development planning and basic data on agricultural and fisheries facilities and services in the barangay.
He also said the Barangays Codcod, VI, and Quezon are among the 11 barangays in San Carlos City targeted for the census where households, establishments, and/or agencies are engaged in fishing and agriculture.
He added the chosen barangays also represent the small, medium, and large areas in the city.
Gawal also discussed in the meeting the structural characteristics, sampling frame, development planning, facilities, and services in the barangay that were under general objectives; target respondents, data to be collected, CAF schedule of activities, PSA Board Resolutions, training and Board Resolution No. 14 endorsing the month of September 2023 as the National Agriculture and Fisheries Census Month.
