City lights-up Christmas Village
The San Carlos City, Neg. Occ. public plaza turned into an enchanting place to be this Christmas season with the lighting of the Christmas Village led by City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo together with the SP Members headed by Vice-Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona last night, Dec. 7, 2019.

Mayor Gustilo said a variety of programs will be held every night at the public plaza to entertain the people.

City Mayor Gustilo Delivers 2018 Local State of the Children’s Report
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo delivered his first Local State of the Children’s Report for 2018 before hundreds of schoolchildren, parents and teachers from various schools in the city, this morning, Nov. 29.

Mayor Gustilo cited the many programs sustained by the city government for the welfare of children especially pertaining to their major rights to survival, development, protection and participation.

City gets 2nd time ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards
Congratulations to the City of San Carlos for being the recipient (for the second time) of the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards 2020-2022. Department of Tourism- Office of Tourism Standards and Regulation Director Rebecca Villanueva-Labit announced the award through letter to City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo congratulating the City of San Carlos.
The awarding will be at The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam on January 16, 2020.

San Carlos City supports 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW)
Violence against women (VAW) and girls is not just a major public health problem but also a grave violation of human rights. It extremely manifests gender inequity, targeting women and girls because of their subordinate status in the society. The United Nations define VAW as “any act of gender-based violence that results in, or likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or private life.” Violence and the threats of violence can be experienced by every woman of any age, skin color, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, economic, and social status.
