Said training under the Road Safety Program of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) aimed at promoting drivers as responders in giving immediate assistance to passengers in case of emergency while on the road ensuring safety of passengers.

The SACATODA drivers are the first batch who finished the said training from Aug 24-Sept. 7(every Saturday & Sunday). They received certificates with two-year validity for them to conduct first aid to victims in case of road accidents. The CDRRMO also provide stickers to drivers for motorcabs identifying them of their capacity to perform first aid. City Mayor Renato Gustilo led the putting of stickers on the driver’ motocabs.

Joe Alingasa, CDRRMO Executive Officer said that the CDRRMO will issue identification cards and reflectorized vest to qualified drivers as certified responders. He added that they prioritize drivers since most accidents happen in the streets. He urged all PUV, pedicab, motorcab and habal-habal drivers to undergo the same training to prepare them in case of accidents.
