San Carlos City Opens New Football Pitch

The city government of San Carlos formally opened its new 7-A-Side football pitch with artificial turf at the City Sports Park in Ilang-ilang St., San Julio Subd. last Oct. 5, 2019.

Said facility which measures 38x38 meters with benches for spectators was funded at P14M from the city's 20% development fund 2018 under the Acquisition/construction/development of facilities-sports.

Following said event, City Mayor Renato Gustilo urged Negros Occidental SK Federation President Pocholo Yuvienco to pass a resolution declaring San Carlos City as football capital of the province.At least 500 brand new Expo 2020 Dubai balls were also donated by Football for Humanity group.Ribbon cutting during said event was done by City Mayor Gustilo, 1st District Congressman Gerardo Valmayor and Football for Humanity CEO Christopher Thomas and its Vice-President Belle Tiongco.The first games played on said field were a friendly match between U12 boys of the SOFRAM footbal club and Tañon College and U15 boys of ACLI football club and Los Amigos.
