Seniors, Flood and Fire Victims Get PSWDO Cash Aid

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Negros Occidental thru the local Social Welfare and Development Office distributed cash assistance to seniors, fire and flash flood victims of the city, Nov. 20.

A total of P725,000 were given to 161 beneficiaries including 80 social pensioners who received P3,000 each while P5,000 each for 17 flash flood victims and P10,000 per family of the 64 victims whose houses were totally damaged.
Merle Garcia, OIC, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office said the beneficiaries are individuals who are not recepients of any pension from the national government identified and recommended by the LGU.
Beneficiaries were thankful to the provincial government for the cash assistance they received.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson who was present during said distribution told beneficiaries to get their COVID-19 vaccination shots so that the comnunity can achieve herd immunity.
City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo on the other hand emphasized that majority have already decided to get vaccinated since records show that data already increased. He added those who were not yet vaccinated still have time to get their shots.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSDWO) headed by CSWD Officer Cynthia Mirande facilitated the disribution with the observance of the minimum health protocol.
