Dialysis Procedure Now Available in San Carlos City Hospital

“This is the first 10-chair dialysis center in the first district of Negros Occidental”, Dr. Archilles Ponferrada, Chief of San Carlos City hospital said during the blessing of said center inside the San Carlos City Hospital this morning, May 10, 2019.

He cited that said dialysis center project was a public-private partnership between the city hospital and NEPHROPRIME headed by Dr. Gil Octaviano, its President, aimed at helping patients with kidney problems especially those needing dialysis.

Octaviano thanked the city government for the opportunity of working with them and be of service to the people of San Carlos as it will be of great advantage for local patients to save money and travel time in going to Bacolod City for dialysis. He added that dialysis service at city hospital will start before the end of May 2019.

Sangguniang Panlungsod member Dr. Wilmer Yap, Chairman of the Committee on Hospital Services said that the project was made possible because of the city government’s action on the rise of cases for dialysis in the community due to the growing population.

City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. also expressed that the city government will continue to work on the improvement of the city and the city hospital to respond to the needs of the people.

Construction of said center was funded by the city government at P3M under the 20 percent development fund of 2017 with the supervision of Engr. John Leur Virtucio of the City Engineering Dep't.

Also present during said inauguration was Dr. Tranquilino B. Carmona, former congressman of the first district of Negros Occidental, Vice-Mayor Rene Gustilo and the rest of the Sangguniang Panlungsod members together with city government department heads.
