DOST Livelihood & Skills Training Center in San Carlos City Opens 

The Livelihood and Skills Training Center of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) located in Brgy. III, San Carlos City was inaugurated yesterday morning.

Engr. Allan Francis Dara-ug, Provincial Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said “this center is one of its kind in Negros Occidental which is DOST supported”.

 He added that if said project showed good result, phase II of said building will follow.

Said center aimed at creating a pool of skillful manpower in preparation for the various emerging industries in the city and nearby localities.

San Carlos City Pioneers in JobStart Program in Negros Occidental

San Carlos City thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is the very first local government unit in Negros Occidental Province to implement the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) JobStart Program.

This was cited by DOLE-Negros Island Region Regional Director Exequiel Sarcauga during the signing of the Memorandum of Undertaking (MOU) between San Carlos City represented by City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. and the DOLE represented by Sarcauga last July 14, 2017.

San Carlos City Tops in Business Standards Set By The Ombudsman

San Carlos City thru its Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) was conferred the Blue Certification Award Level I for passing the business standards set by the Ombudsman Visayas for local government units (LGUs) in addressing red tape issues.
