San Carlos City Lauded For Wastewater Management
San Carlos City, Neg. Occ. was awarded the “Water Leadership Award” by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) during the celebration of World Water Day held March 22, 2017 in Quezon City.

The DENR-EMB conferred said award to the city government of San Carlos in recognition of its wastewater management project and commitment towards implementing sustainable wastewater management.
Said award was received by Engr. Arthur Batomalaque, Environmental Management Specialist of the San Carlos City Environment Management Office (CEMO).
San Carlos City is widely known for its environmental best practices particularly in solid waste and wastewater management.
Launched in partnership with Maynilad in 2015, said World Water Day Awards, as part of the World Water Day celebration aimed at recognizing top performing individuals, organizations and community influencers for various efforts in helping address water issues and promoting sustainable development.
The 2017 celebration carries the theme “Water and Wastewater” to highlight the symbiosis between water and wastewater in the quest for sustainable development.
