San Carlos City Receives P2M as 2016 Most Outstanding Coastal Community
The city government of San Carlos was given P2M cheque by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Reg. VI for being the regional winner during the 2016 Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) Search for Most Outstanding Coastal Community.
BFAR Provincial Fishery Officer Marian Jill Abeto turned over said cheque to City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr together with the staff of the City Environment Management Office (CEMO) last June 14, 2019.
Supervising Environmental Management Specialist Edward Burgos of CEMO's Coastal Resources Management Division said they will use the money particularly the P1M to buy two patrol boats while the remaining P1M will be used as livelihood assistance to local fishermen in coordination with Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Council (FARMC).
