Contact Tracing Underway for New COVID-19 Positive Cases in the City

The city government of San Carlos thru its Incident Management Team (IMT) headed by City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo declared that they are now undergoing contact tracing for the two new positive cases in the city thru a press conference this morning, Sept. 22.

Dr. Jessa Tiapon, Overall Team In-Charge of the quarantine facility and on contact tracing said that new positive cases for COVID-19 include the couple who work at Mom’s Small Hotel & Restaurant and Tiretech Shop, respectively. She called on individuals especially those who have visited or exposed to the two patients at the said establishments from Sept 4 –Sept 21 for patient no. 42 employed at Tiretech and Sept. 9- Sept. 21 for patient no. 43 who is a kitchen staff at Mom’s to voluntarily call the City Health Office or the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) so they can undergo the health protocol for contact tracing for their health safety.
She also encouraged the public to report to the City Health Office if they experience symptoms for COVID-19 which include fever, headache, body malaise and loss of the sense of smell and taste so appropriate action will be done; to maintain the necessary health protocol including wearing of facemask and face shield and observe social distancing at all times.
She added that presently the city has 242 individuals under quarantine, 120 of which are inside the city’s healing facility while the rest were in the local hotels and their own homes.
Mayor Gustilo on the other hand cited that the local government is doing its best to contain the spread of the disease and urged residents to be careful and to follow the health protocols set by the government especially when outside their homes while contact tracing is going on for those who have tested positive. He also called on the mothers to keep their children at home; not to allow their children to roam on the streets because the local hospitals cannot accommodate influx of patients if infection spreads.
COVID-19 cases for San Carlos City is now raised to 43 confirmed cases; 2 deaths and 36 recoveries.
