City Turns Over Projects to the DepEd

The local government of San Carlos City turned over the two projects at Don Carlos Ledesma National High School (DCLNHS) in Barangay Buluangan to the Department of Education (DepEd) this morning, May 27.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, Congressman Gerardo Valmayor Jr. of the 1st District of Negros Occidental and Anthony Liobet CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent led the formal opening of said projects which consisted of  Audio Visual Room and multi-purpose building.
The Audio Visual Room was funded by the local government at P2, 248, 541.31 while the multi-purpose building was also budgeted at P4,702,487.41 by Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
Construction of said projects was supervised by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) both completed within the first and second quarters of 2021.
Mayor Gustilo said the local government is always supportive of the DepEd for the welfare of school children.
He also encouraged the teachers as role models and front liners to avail the vaccination program of the government so that herd immunity will be achieved in the hope that normal lives will return to normalcy.
Anthony Liobet CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent expressed his gratitude to the city officials for the support extended especially the construction of said two projects which the teachers of the said school want to have.
Hernan Hemida, DCLNHS School Principal said they are very lucky to receive the projects which will be useful and serve as venues for various school activities. He also assured the city officials that they would take care of the facilities.
Also present during the event were Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, SP Member Carlos Manuel Valmayor, Dennis Develos- OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, DepEd supervisors, DCLNHS teachers and Barangay Buluangan officials.
