LGU Extends Assistance to Associations

The local government of San Carlos City thru Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo turned over three checks worth P60,000 each to registered associations today, Jan. 19, at the City Mayor’s Office.

The three groups which received the assistance facilitated by the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office (CLDO) were Maglunod Health Workers Association of Barangay Quezon, Paglaum Small Vendors Association of Brgy. V and Tapon Fisherfolks Association of Brgy. Guadalupe.
Grace Nequinto, Cooperatives Development Specialist II of the CLDO said the group, formerly members of the Bayanihan Savings Replication Program (BSRP) of the CLDO will use the money as additional capital for their existing rice retail businesses in their respective places.
Nequinto added that the loans will be paid within a year with a 6 percent diminishing interest.
Mayor Gustilo advised the groups to make sure that the borrowed money will have a positive impact on their respective business activities so that they can still re-loan later.
Flordeliza Gonzales, president of the Maglunod Health Workers Association thanked the city government for the said financial assistance.
