Mayor Gustilo told the more than 200 participants from the various sitios/puroks of said area that it was the right time to air their many sentiments to the government so it can act on it especially project development for the community.

Gustilo also said that the local government unit (LGU) of San Carlos is always in support to these projects and fund it with whatever it can afford with the help of the province and the national government since said projects need big amounts especially infrastructure ones.

He cited that people should trust the government because only the government has the capacity to help solved the problems in the community and not the armed group of rebels. He added that they just have to be patient because infrastructure projects are many and that the government particularly the LGU has limited budget.

Together with Mayor Gustilo were different representatives from various government agencies to hear out the people’s concerns.

The Department of the Interior &Local Government (DILG) Local Government Operations Officer VI Steve Yap also assured the residents that the DILG will lobby the funding of said projects to the national government for complete implementation.

Brgy. Codcod Punong Barangay Danilo Lastimoso thanked the city government and the DILG for having said program in their barangay to assure the people that the government is serious in its commitment to bring change and to include them in the development process.

The participants in said activity were divided by sitios or puroks and identified the various concerns or needs of their community including farm-to-market roads, road filling, electrification, water system, health center and senior citizens’ benefit.

Flaviano Balatria one of the representatives of Sitio Apog-apog thanked the government that one of these days they will see the implementation of the development in their community.

The said immersion follows the service caravan initiated earlier by the city government and the DILG in connection with President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s Executive Order (EO) 70 which is Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework.
