More than 2,000 residents of San Carlos City took advantage of a free medical-surgical mission conducted by more than 60 volunteers including 30 Visayan medical doctors for three days from February 1-3, 2016.

The turning over of the key of the container van that holds the donated medical supplies from the Bisaya Medical Association headed by Dr. Victorino Chin (in Green) to City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor, Jr.     San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor, Jr. opened up the truckload of various medical supplies donated by Bisaya Medical Association of USA.

Said team represented the Bisaya Medical Association (BMA) of USA headed by Dr. Victorino Chin, BMA President, also donated various medical and surgical equipment to the city hospital last January 25, 2016.

Donated medical tools and supplies include mechanical beds with foam, delivery tables, baby warmers, BP apparatus, digital weighing scales for children, wheelchairs, crutches, dental chairs, bedside lamps with medication tray among others.

Dr. Chin said that their group wanted to contribute not just free medical services but medical supplies to San Carlos City after learning that it has a new city hospital being constructed which is almost finished.

He added that they got said supplies from Brothers-Brothers Foundation of Pittsburg, USA which also provides assistance to areas that needed said medical implements.

The free medical consultation/checkup, giving of vitamins and medicines to children and patients and mild surgical operations were done at the new city hospital at Brgy. Palampas.

Chief of the City Hospital Department Dr. Archilles Ponferrada and City Health Office Chief Dr. Arniel Laurence Portuguez and staff helped in facilitating the activities for said medical mission.

The Bisaya Medical Mission Association of USA started its humanitarian works in the Philippines since 1985.
