Provincial Veterinary Office - District Field Unit Now in San Carlos City

The Provincial Veterinary Office-District Field Unit 1(OPV-DFU1) was formally opened in San Carlos city at the 2nd Floor of the Public Market Building (former City Health Department Office) yesterday, Nov. 22, 2018.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena thanked the city government for providing them an area in the city to serve the constituents of the first district.

Dr. Regina Gawan, now serves as the District Veterinarian together with her staff to attend to the first district residents’ concern on their farm animals and pets.

During the blessing of said office, PVO-DFU1 gave out 400 Kabir chicks (2-weeks old) to various groups under the Free Range Chicken Dispersal project.

Among the groups which received said chickens include Caimito Marginal Fisherfolks Assn – 60 chicks; Pitogo-San Juan Fisherfolks Assn- 60 chicks; Ermita Fisherfolks Assn- 60 chicks; Sipaway Island Fishermen Assn- 60 chicks; and, San Carlos City Paravets Assn. -100 chicks.

Barangay Ermita Kagawad Apolinar Montano thanked the PVO and the city government for the chicken project which he said is an added income for them.

City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. and Sangguniang Panlungsod Member Mark Cui together with the City Veterinarian Dr. Jeff Reonal and City Agriculture staff were present during said event.
