Service Caravan Opens RCSP in San Carlos City

The Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of the government in line with the Executive Order 70 (EO 70) of the President opened in San Carlos with a series of Service Caravans starting in Barangay Codcod, yesterday, Feb. 3, 2020.

San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo who led in the activity together with various agencies from both local and national government said that the move is to bring the services of the government to the residents in the upland barangays so the people would know that the government is always there to cater to their needs and ready to provide assistance when needed.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) facilitated said activity participated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for NBI clearance processing, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for free haircut and massage, Office of the City Civil Registrar (OCCR) for registration of birth, marriages and deaths, City Health Office (CHO) for free medical consultation and dental checkups, City Agriculturist’s Office (CAO) for free seedlings of fruit-bearing trees and vegetables, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) for job application and hiring and City Social Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO) for free canned goods and rice.
DILG-Provincial North Cluster Head Ma. Fatima Daiz said that the activity aimed at showing the people that the government both national and local are working together to bring peace and development to everybody and for them to trust the government.
Mayor Gustilo also told the people present there that the city government with the help of the province and the national government is already doing various infrastructure projects and soon it will reach their place depending on the availability of funds.
More than 300 former mass supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in Barangay Codcod attended said activity who availed of the various services offered.
The EO 70 is about Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework.
Those present at said activity made a pledge of commitment of stakeholders to support and provide time and effort to deliver the services to the people when needed.
The next service caravan will be in Barangays Quezon, Nataban, Guadalupe and Buluangan.
Also present during said event were PNP-Negros Occidental Provincial Director Police Col. Romeo Baleros, San Carlos City SK Federation President JB Spring Bacurnay, PNP-San Carlos Police Major Mark Angelo Junco and City Planning & Development Coordinator Engr. Magnolia Antonio.
