City Turns Over Assistance to Pedicab Drivers

San City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona turned over the P500,000 worth of assistance to Jose Sermon, president of San Carlos Pedicab Operators and Drivers Association (SCAPODA) last July 30, 2020 at the City Hall Lobby.

Sermon said the aid which comprised of pedicab spare parts and other supplies are important materials for the start of their group’s spare part shop located at the public terminal for retail but members can avail items at a lower price and thru credit.

Erel Lim, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Officer-In-Charge said that the assistance is a grant from the national government’s Bottom Up-Budgeting thru the Department of Labor & Employment. He also added that the said business shop by the pedicab drivers will be closely monitored by the DOLE and the PESO.

City Mayor Gustilo and Vice Mayor Carmona urged SCAPODA members to take care of the said project granted to them and to sustain it since it is a great opportunity to improve their group’s livelihood.
