San Carlos City Bested in DILG’s 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance

San Carlos City was awarded anew by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) the Seal of Good Local Governance last November 7, 2018.
City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. received the award from Secretary of Interior and Local Government Eduardo Año and Senator Loren Legarda at the Manila Hotel Tent City, Manila.

He also received the award from DILG as “Katangi-tanging Pagpupugay sa Lokal na Pamahalaan sa Pagsasakatuparan ng Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).
Earlier, Mayor Valmayor said that San Carlos City always welcome challenges that would measure its capabilities especially in providing the needs of its people because it is only through these challenges that the city can improve more and become more efficient in its service delivery.
DILG Negros Occidental Facebook Page congratulated the Cities of San Carlos, Silay and Victorias as well as the Municipality of Binalbagan for besting the assessment criteria of the SGLG despite its raise from “4+1” to “all-in”.
It said that having completed the requirements proved that the LGUs in the province are continuously striving to improve the quality of service to the people.
Also present with Mayor Valmayor during the 2018 SGLG awarding were DILG Region 6 Regional Director Anthony C. Nuyda, DILG R6 Asst. Regional Director Maria Calpiza Sardua, DILG Negros Occidental Provincial Director Carmelo F. Orbista and DILG North Cluster Leader Maria Fatima R. Daiz.
San Carlos City won the SGLG award for four times already since 2015.
