San Carlos City Observes Fire Prevention Month

A “Unity Walk” as early as 5 o’clock yesterday morning, March 1, 2016 kicked off the observance of Fire Prevention Month for the whole month of March which carries the theme “Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan ng Sambayanan, Kaligtasan sa Sunog ay Makamtan.”

Said walk was facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection of the city of San Carlos headed by its Officer-In-Charge, Senior Fire Officer I Marilou Dela Cruz and staff.

Dela Cruz said they opted to silently fulfill this year’s fire prevention activities for a change since it has been observed that in the past customary rites, where everything was done in a big celebration, more fires also broke out particularly during the month of March.

She added that part of said activities include ocular inspection of business establishments, giving out of leaflets about fire safety, prepare fire-trucks, conduct basic firefighting training on various industrial companies and schools and fire drills in coordination with the City Risk Reduction Management Office.
