Several Farmers Received Financial Assistance from Dollosa Family

At least 31 families received financial assistance or disturbance fee from Dollosa family last March 23, 2016 after the latter sold its rice farm to the city government of San Carlos.

The city government planned to convert said property at Brgy. Prosperidad into a Demo Farm project of the City Agriculture’s Office to enhance rice production and help improve local farmer’s agricultural technology.

City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr together with SP Dickson Yu talked with affected farmilies at Brgy. Prosperidad, this city.

City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor, Jr. and lot owner former Punong Barangay of Brgy. Quezon Maria Socorro Dollosa Zapanta distributed said financial aid to said affected families.

Mayor Valmayor said that since the relocation site was not yet developed, affected families may still stay where they are and make use of what’s left with their product but they can no longer develop or plant anything at said area.

Distributed financial assistance was based on the size of the area and the kind of crops planted there.

Oscar Limpio, Housing and Homesite Regulation Officer of San Carlos City Integrated Land Housing Authority said that the city government had initially paid P1,744,162 for the 4.5899 hectares of land from Dollosa family since the documents of the remaining 19 hectares are still being processed.

Limpio added that the city government planned to allocate 1 hectare from said property to be used as relocation site for affected farmers and those other informal settlers at said barangay.
