The city government of San Carlos thru the City Planning Development Coordinator’s Office (CPDCO) facilitated a five-day Basic-Training on Arc GIS to selected representatives of local gov't. offices from Aug. 22-26, 2016 at CDRRM building.
Planning Officer II Ronnie Almoneda,
Participants listen intently during workshop
Engr. Magnolia B. Antonio, Officer-In-Charge of CPDCO said the training aimed at creating a precise database for each local department thru a geographic information system (GIS) using maps and geographic information that will provide a detailed structure of data.
Engr. Antonio was grateful that San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor, Jr. agreed to have said training for the local departments since it is already high time to improve the previous approach to data management.
She added that the city was very lucky to get for free the expertise of Ronaldo Almoneda of the Provincial Planning and Dev. Office and Raymund Carlos of the Provincial Environment Mgt. Office, both GIS experts as trainers since acquiring same training from other places and professionals would cost the city government great amount of money.
Said training is expected to enhance the participants’ skills in GIS and improve delivery and storage of data information other than better collaboration of various local departments thru data integration and sharing.
