San Carlos City Oplan Tokhang Yields Rises

In the recent update of San Carlos City PNP's running Oplan Tokhang against illegal drug personalities in San Carlos City, 161 was added to last month’s 694 surrenderees bringing the sum to 855, mostly illegal drug users as per September 1, 2016 record.

Out of said total, 568 surrendered voluntarily while 287 resulted from PNP’s actual operation Tokhang.

Police Superintendent Jacob Crisostomo, San Carlos City Police Chief said that out of the 18 barangays in San Carlos City, barangays 5 & 6 stayed as top drug- plagued areas even after Tokhang was made as reports revealed that some surrenderees still continue with their illegal activities.

Crisostomo cited that PNP have intensified its operations with other law enforcement agencies including Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) where operatives conduct operations anytime of the day to go after said individuals who remained easy despite PNP’s grim warning against perpetrators.

He added that San Carlos City has already committed 6 individuals to Negros Occidental provincial government’s experimental wellness program for drug rehabilitation in Murcia budgeted at P5M where drug personalities will be committed for a week.

Meanwhile, Crisostomo reported that out of the 18 component cities in Negros Island Region, San Carlos Police Station was awarded Best Component City Police Station during the PNP’s 115th Police Service Anniversary last August 25, 2016, because of its extensive police operations while Most Supportive LGU was also awarded to San Carlos City and Plaque of Appreciation to San Carlos PNP given by PDEA last June 29, 2016.
