San Carlos City’s Opening of 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, A Blast
Unlike past celebrations of the month-long Civil Service anniversary, San Carlos City thru the Office for Human Resources Management (OHRM) refashioned its opening salvo from the usual sport games into a jovial exhibition of talents among local government employees.
A cheer-dance competition cooked up by OHRM two weeks before the start of said month-long filled activities participated by 5 clusters of various local departments and the friendly bout between city elected officials and city department heads in a volleyball game left spectators in awe after the show last Sept. 2, 2016 at the city auditorium.

Cheerdance Winner, Team Yellow (Pokemon inspired) clustered by City Assessor’s Office, Budget Office, City Accounting Office,
Grand winner of cheer-dance contest was the Yellow Team which sported a Pokemon inspired theme of clustered City Assessor’s Office, Budget Office, City Accounting Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Environment Management Office and City Agriculture Office.
Other winners include the Orange Team by City Health Office, City Waterworks Dep’t and Public Market & Slaughterhouse Dep’t. and General Services Dep’t. as 2nd Place and the Blue Team composed only of the City Hospital personnel as 3rd place while the Green Team by City Mayor’s Office, Sangguniang Panlungsod Office and City Administrator’s Office won the Best Cluster Cheer.
All winners received cash prizes of P6,000 for 1st Place; P4,000 for 2nd Place and P3,000 for 3rd Place and Best Cluster Cheer for P500.
The Red Team on the other hand comprising the City Planning and Dev’t. Coordinator’s Office, City Engineering Dep’t., City Social Welfare & Dev’t. Office, City Legal Office, Registry of Deeds and Office of the City Civil Registrar settled for the consolation prize of P1,500.
Activities lined up for the whole month of September include gift giving, share-a-meal, health advocacy campaign, bloodletting, coastal cleanup, seminar on ITAPS, Funwalk, Oath taking of SACAPRAISE & Grievance Committee members, Oath taking of newly appointed and promoted employees alongside the sports tournament among local gov’t. employees in volleyball, badminton and chess starting Sept. 5, 2016.
