City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor, Jr. is now set to get San Carlos City’s second Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award in Manila on Oct. 27, 2016.

Tagged with said award is P5M to fund major project for San Carlos City.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) started said SGLG program last year which aimed at raising the level of governance and delivery of services among local government units towards better and honest governance.

The DILG said that San Carlos City passed the assessment based on the upgraded criteria where the city met all the standards of the three core areas and one essential area in governance conducted from March to September, 2016, for the programs of the local government unit (LGU) in 2015.

Said award will give San Carlos City several opportunities including access to Performance Challenge Fund and other program windows subject to specific program guidelines to finance its major projects for development and sustain its commitment towards good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness, social protection for the basic sector as well as business-friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order and environmental management which said seal was anchored on.

City Local Government Operations Officer of the DILG Noeh Castellano will accompany Mayor Valmayor at said awarding to be held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
