Metals & Engineering Center in San Carlos Almost Complete

The Negros Occidental Metals and Engineering Innovation Center constructed at Brgy. III near its covered court is expected to be finished on March, this year.

Said training center which is the very first in Negros Occidental province was a joint project of San Carlos City and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) budgeted at P5.45M which P4,450,000 came from San Carlos City and P1M from the DOST for equipment purchase.

DOST Provincial Science and Technology Director, Engr. Allan Francis Dara-ug said that the DOST will provide the trainers and the trainings at said center to create a pool of skilled workers of metal works and engineering in preparation for industries that are coming to the city as economic growth continues.

Construction of the center started last March 16, 2015 under the supervision of Engr. Melvin Briones of City Engineering Department.
