San Carlos City’s Housing Project Lauded

San Carlos City, Negros Occidental thru its City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. received an award for its socialized housing project for government employees last January 27, 2017.

PAG-IBIG Fund conferred said award to the city for its program innovation in providing high quality yet affordable housing to more than 400 government employees living in San Carlos City who have no house and lot ownership.

Said housing project which made use of the interlocking compressed earth block also known as San Carlos Enviro-blox, provided beneficiaries a house and lot package of P450,000.00 for the two-storey 80 sq. m lot with house floor area of 50 sq. m, payable in 30 years thru Pag-Ibig.

Said project called SanCa Ville Cooperative Housing was a collaboration of the city government, Julio and Florentina Ledesma Foundation with We Effect, San Carlos Development Board, and San Carlos Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

A number of beneficiaries have already transferred to the first phase of said housing project located at Brgy. Rizal, intended for the first 197 applicants.

Said award was conferred by the PAG-IBIG Fund during its anniversary celebration held at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
