San Carlos City Receives Another Recognition

San Carlos City, Neg. Occ. thru its City Environment Management Office (CEMO) was once again presented with a Plaque of Recognition during the National Conference – Sharing of Good Practices and Presentation of the ASEAN Model Cities Phase III in Dipolog City yesterday, March 30, 2017.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) thru the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) recognized San Carlos City for its exemplary performance on environmental governance; for putting in place sustainable practices to achieve clean air, clean water and clean land; and for promoting the development of Environmentally Sustainable Cities (ESC).

Engr. Arthur Batomalaque, Environmental Management Specialist of CEMO received said award.

The Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) Model Cities is a regional initiative aimed at promoting the development of ESC across ASEAN countries by strengthening the ESC frameworks and actions that facilitate the promotion and replication of good practices and policies within and across countries, among others.

The DENR-EMB recommended San Carlos City to the 3rd ASEAN ESC Awards and became one of the Most Environmentally Sustainable Cities in South East Asia during the 15th Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Environment held in Vientiane Laos on October 30-31, 2014
