San Carlos City and GMA 7 Conduct Operation Tuli

The city government of San Carlos in partnership with TV station GMA 7 Kapuso Network conducted a one-day medical mission Operation Tuli (free circumcision) last April 29, 2017 at the city auditorium.

Said free medical operation targeted 500 patients for boys ranging from 9 to 14 years old. However, one 17-year old requested to avail of said opportunity which the doctors agreed making said lad the oldest among the total of 522 circumcised that day. Another set of 61 boys was scheduled for another day with the city health office due to lack of time, still, free of charge.

Young boys from all over the 18 barangays of the city came to avail of said free circumcision.

GMA-Central & Eastern Visayas Kapuso Foundation Regional Coordinator Amabelle Rusiana said that the activity aimed at helping the less privileged families in San Carlos City which cannot afford to pay for private operation.

She added that all medical supplies used in said medical mission was provided by GMA7.
Free medicines were also provided to patients after the operation.

The city government thru the City Social Welfare and Development Office also gave free lunch to patients while GMA 7 provided for the medical staff.

The medical team includes doctors of the San Carlos City Medical Society both from private and public hospitals, nurses from the Philippine Nurses Association- San Carlos, and other medical pool from the City Health Office, City Hospital Department and the 62nd Infantry Battalion medical team based in Sagay City.

Said activity which started at 8:00 in the morning lasted up to 8:00 in the evening.

GMA Kapuso Foundation also gave out bags with school supplies to various public elementary schools in the city last April 22, 2017 thru its program Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan.
