San Carlos City Launches New APP on Contact Tracing

The city government of San Carlos thru the Information Technology and Computer Services Office (ITCSO) has developed an application of Quick Response (QR) code technology for easier and faster contact tracing, launched yesterday, Oct. 28.

Joseph Binghay, ITCSO Information Technology Officer II said the application called VAMOS (Viral Assessment and Monitoring System) was developed amid the rising COVID-19 positive cases in San Carlos City to help make contact tracing easier and faster.
He added that the formulation of the ordinance is now underway so that using said app will be implemented in the whole city.
The staff of the ITCSO led by Felix Michael Oberes, Information System Analyst went office to office to orient local government employees of the mobile application design, registration, and monitoring of whereabouts of individuals subject in the contact tracing for COVID-19 cases including how to download and use the app on their phones.

An Executive Order No. 235 was already released yesterday directing the government offices and barangays to use and implement the VAMOS application which can help the government trace employees/individuals who have contacted those identified positive with COVID-19.
As of today, the city has 137 active cases for COVID-19 with 87 recoveries and 9 deaths out of the total 233 positive cases.
